On July 3, 1928 the first TV set in the world was sold in USA. This technological wonder was invented by Russian scientist Vladimir Zworykin, who had immigrated to the USA. The TV set had a mechanical scanner and worked with the help of two radio receivers, for picture and for sound, like in a normal radio.
On June 12, 1928 the world's first television station went on the air in Chicago. Almost three years later, on April 29, 1931 the first experimental session of telecasting took place in the USSR, and on November 15, 1934 the first sound TV broadcast was made.
