The 5th Republican Academic Competition on Intellectual Property, held in Minsk, ended on 4 May

The 5th Republican Academic Competition on Intellectual Property came to an end on 4 May in Minsk. The contestants were students of secondary, specialised, vocational and higher education institutions. The competition was organized by the Department of Legal and Humanitarian Disciplines, School of Business at the Belarusian State University.

Svetlana Koroliova, Director of LEXPATENT LLC, patent attorney, participated in the competition as a member of the panel of judges.

The competition was held in two stages. In the first stage, the participants presented their creative works on the topic "Intellectual Property of My Region". The second stage consisted of two rounds: preparing a video clip on the topic "Intellectual property around us" and completing an interactive quest "Intellectual property is out there".

Only 10 contestants made it to the final. The youngest of them was Maksim Gulinich, a 3rd grader at secondary school No. 39, Hrodna.

Here are the winners of the competition:

  • Anastasiya Korniychuk, Homiel State Agrarian-Economic College, 2nd year - 1st degree diploma,
  • Ksenia Kovalchuk, Gymnasium No. 1, Slonim, 10th grade – 2nd degree diploma,
  • Polina Krivitskaya, Vitsebsk State Technical College, 3rd  year, and Valeria Zanko, Vileika Gymnasium No. 2, 11th grade – 3rd degree diploma.

Later this year they will have an opportunity to showcase their creative talents at the Festival of Intellectual Property, which will be held from 28 October to 6 November 2023.
