Victoria Yemelianova delivered a speech on the seminar on "International Registration of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin of Goods: Madrid and Lisbon Systems"

On 22 November, the National Centre of Intellectual Property in conjunction with the World Intellectual Property Organization and with the support of the Republican Scientific and Technical Library held a seminar on "International Registration of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin of Goods: Madrid and Lisbon Systems".

The seminar addressed the issues of protection of trademarks abroad, examination and judicial practice in relation to non-traditional trademarks, creation of regional brands and others. Victoria Yemelianova, Head of Department for Protection of Industrial Property Objects of LEXPATENT LLC, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Belarus and Eurasian Patent Attorney, delivered a speech on "How to protect a trademark abroad with the Madrid system: practical aspects" at the seminar. Victoria spoke about different approaches to the examination of international trademarks in patent offices of different countries, taking into consideration their cultural peculiarities. Victoria's speech was of great interest to the seminar participants.
