International Scientific and Practical Conference "Transformation of the Eurasian Patent System. Assessment and Prospects" brings together IP professionals from 6 countries

On 13-14 June 2024, Minsk hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Transformation of the Eurasian Patent System. Assessment and Prospects". The conference was attended by IP professionals from Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, and Uzbekistan.
LEXPATENT LLC’s employees were invited to speak at the conference.

Darya Lando, Head of Legal Department, took part in the round table "Emerging markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU): licensing and franchising", organised with the support of LES Russia. Within the framework of the topic under discussion, the speakers exchanged information on the specifics of legal regulation and enforcement practices in Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan. Darya shared with the conference attendees information on the conclusion, registration, execution and termination of a licence agreement, franchising agreement and agreement on the transfer of information constituting know-how in Belarus.

Tatiana Vashuk, Head of the Department for Protection of Industrial Property Objects, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Belarus, Eurasian Patent Attorney (specialising in "Inventions", "Industrial Designs"), delivered a talk within the framework of the presentation session "The specifics of obtaining legal protection of industrial designs in the Eurasian space", bringing the attention of the audience to the specifics of protection of industrial designs in Belarus and assessing the prospects of such protection.

Svetlana Koroliova, Director, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Belarus, Eurasian Patent Attorney (specialising in "Inventions"), discussed with the attendees the specifics of working with foreign jurisdictions for Belarusian applicants and patentees within the framework of the presentation session "International Legal Protection of Intellectual Property - Current Problems and Restrictions", and also took an active part in the discussion within the framework of the presentation session "Judicial Practice of the States Parties to the Eurasian Patent Convention in the Field of Intellectual Property".
